Nurturing Healthy Communities

through Awareness, Access, and Care

Health

Vibhavari promotes awareness and positive behavioural change among women and adolescent girls on reproductive health and gender issues through a peer-led approach. By conducting interactive sessions and creating peer leaders as change-makers, the initiative ensures long-term sustainability in selected villages. The organization has implemented Training of Trainers (ToT) programs to build the capacity of peer leaders as master trainers, enabling them to conduct sessions on topics such as RTIs/STIs, Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), nutrition, and anaemia.

Vibhavari has also organized sensitization sessions for Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, school teachers, and SHG members, empowering them to take ownership and lead behaviour change related to reproductive health. Furthermore, school children have been actively engaged and empowered to act as change agents, playing a crucial role in spreading awareness within their families and communities

Our Health Programs

Community Health Center & Health Camp

From 2001 to 2018, Vibhavari introduced an innovative idea in all watershed projects to improve community health. A “Help Kit” was made available at every Watershed Committee office to provide basic health facilities. This kit served as a ready resource for addressing minor health issues within the community. In addition to this, health camps were organized from time to time in the project areas. These camps offered basic check-ups, medical advice and health-related information. Through these efforts, awareness about health and hygiene was significantly increased among community members.

Awareness programs for adolescent girls and women

Vibhavari organized health awareness programs for adolescent girls and newly married women under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. These programs were conducted in various villages of Kannod block, District Dewas. The initiative aimed to promote better health practices and awareness among young women. Special sessions were held to address health, nutrition and hygiene-related issues. Participants were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles and seek timely medical care. Through these programs, Vibhavari worked to empower women and improve their overall well-being in the community.

Health and Nutrition

Vibhavari organized an awareness program for the health and nutrition of children from Anganwadi centers and pre-primary schools. The program was conducted for participants in Kannod & Khategaon block, District Dewas. Its objective was to promote proper nutrition and healthy growth in young children. Sessions focused on balanced diets, hygiene, and disease prevention. Mothers, caregivers and Anganwadi workers actively participated in the activities. The initiative helped improve awareness and practices related to child health and nutrition in the community.

Swachhta Ki Aur Ek Kadam

Vibhavari, with support from ITC, conducted the Swachhta Ki Aur Ek Kadam program in 46 villages of Sehore district. Workshops were organized for women from SHGs, MDM, Anganwadi Sahayikas, and VDCs. The program focused on cleanliness, nutrition, and livelihood promotion. Participants were encouraged to adopt hygienic practices and improve nutrition in their families. The initiative also aimed to strengthen women’s role in community development. Through these efforts, awareness and participation in health, hygiene, and livelihoods significantly increased.
