Training & Capacity building
Since 1997, Vibhavari’s training wing has conducted over 5,500 training programs and more than 1,000 courses on key subjects such as water conservation and augmentation, soil conservation, school sanitation, personal hygiene, safe drinking water, water literacy, watershed management, climate-resilient agriculture, biodiversity, health, and sustainable livelihoods.
The organization has developed customized training modules for central and state government agencies, corporate institutions, UNICEF, UN-Habitat, and various non-governmental organizations. It has also created practical training manuals and capacity-building tools tailored for teachers, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), farmers, and community members.Through these initiatives, Vibhavari has played a significant role in strengthening grassroots capacities and promoting sustainable development practices.
Our Expertise
1. Sanitation, Hygiene & Health
Vibhavari has earned State-level recognition for its work under the Swachh Bharat Mission (TSC-SBM)and in hygiene and health education. The message of sanitation has been effectively disseminated at all levels through capacity-building efforts and an engaging, activity-based kit developed by Vibhavari. The organization has conducted training on sanitation for stakeholders at all level (from state to village) in almost all districts of Madhya Pradesh, significantly contributing to making the state a leader in the Total Sanitation Campaign.
Capacity Building Workshop on Total Sanitation Campaign for Bhopal Division
Vibhavari has actively worked in 38 districts of Madhya Pradesh under the Total Sanitation Campaign and Swachh Bharat Mission. In addition, under the guidance of Commissioner B.R. Naidu, skill development and behavior change training programs were conducted in Pachmarhi for all stakeholders — from district collectors to grassroots-level workers — across 8 districts of the Bhopal Division. These efforts played a crucial role in effectively translating the government’s valuable objectives into ground-level implementation.
Capacity Building Program on Total Sanitation Campaign across Madhya Pradesh Districts
A partner organization of SIRD (State Institute of Rural Development) and WALMI (Water and Land Management Institute) Vibhavari, as a partner organization of SIRD and WALMI, served as a sub-training center and provided training to participants from various districts of Madhya Pradesh. Through this collaboration, Vibhavari played a vital role in building the capacities of trainees on subjects related to rural development, water conservation, sanitation and sustainable livelihoods, contributing significantly to the state’s developmental goals.
Training Program on Total Sanitation Campaign of MPRLP
As a partner organization of WALMI (Water and Land Management Institute), Vibhavari conducted specialized training programs on the Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) for PFT (Project Facilitation Team) members and coordinators of the Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project (MPRLP). These trainings were organized for participants from all the selected districts covered under the MPRLP. The objective was to build the capacity of field-level functionaries in promoting sanitation, hygiene practices, and community-led initiatives, thereby strengthening the implementation of the Total Sanitation Campaign at the grassroots level.





2. Watershed
The core expertise of Vibhavari lies in Watershed Management. The organization has worked in regions facing natural challenges such as very low groundwater levels, extensive soil erosion, and low agricultural productivity. Through a well-planned strategy and active community participation, Vibhavari has successfully brought about livelihood improvements and positive transformations in these areas.
Vibhavari conducted Watershed Committee training at the state level in collaboration with WALMI (Water and Land Management Institute) as a partner NGO, adhering to government norms. We were one of the six recognized partner organizations in Madhya Pradesh selected as expert agencies for Watershed Development Committee training. Additionally, we provided technical training and expertise on critical topics such as water crisis management, water budgeting, safe drinking water, grey water management, and water resource planning for both government and non-government organizations, including UNICEF, UN-Habitat, and CSR initiatives.
Training Workshop on Watershed Management and Conservation Practices
As a partner organization of WALMI (Water and Land Management Institute), Vibhavari conducted specialized training programs on watershed management for committee members, team leaders, and project coordinators of the RGM-WM (Rajiv Gandhi Mission for Watershed Management), Madhya Pradesh. These trainings were organized for participants from all the selected districts covered under the RGM-WM.
The objective of the training was to build the capacity of field-level functionaries in key areas such as area treatment, agricultural enhancement, livelihood generation, and the sustainable development of villages.
Capacity Building Workshop on Jal Jeevan Mission
Vibhavari was selected as a Level-3 Resource Center by the National JalJeevan Mission. In 2021, under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Bhopal, entrusted Vibhavari with the responsibility of conducting capacity-building programs for members of Village Water & Sanitation Committees (VWSC), Panchayat Secretaries, and Implementing Support Agencies (ISAs) in three districts of Madhya Pradesh Dewas, Agar, and Burhanpur.Under this assignment, Vibhavari successfully conducted 62 training programs, benefiting a total of 3,202 trainees.
National JalJeevan Mission – ‘HarGharJal’ is an ambitious project which is committed to provide adequate quantity of clean & safe water from tap to every household in all rural areas of the country on regular basis. The goal of this workshop is to enhance the capacity of the village level team for the successful implementation and smooth operation of the ‘JalJeevan Mission’ for which various objectives were set..












3. Agriculture
Vibhavari has conducted training programs on various agriculture-related subjects, including organic farming, climate-resilient agriculture, biodiversity and sustainable agri -livelihoods. These trainings were designed to enhance farmers’ knowledge and promote sustainable farming practices tailored to local conditions.climate-resilient agriculture, biodiversity, health, and sustainable livelihoods.



4. Livelihood
From the formation of these SHGs to their linkage with income-generating activities, Vibhavari has also conducted training on various related subjects to build their capacity.
- Vibhavari is working with Nagar Nigam Dewas under the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM). The project covers almost all wards of Dewas Municipal Corporation and was initiated in the year 2017-18. Vibhavari has formed Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in nearly every ward of Dewas city.
- In addition, Vibhavari is also working as a partner NGO with NABARD in Sehore (Madhya Pradesh), where SHGs have been formed under two different LEDP (Livelihood and Enterprise Development Program) projects.
- Furthermore, in Sehore district itself, 50 SHGs were formed in collaboration with ITC and linked with goat-rearing activities.
- Under various watershed projects implemented across different districts of Madhya Pradesh, approximately 350 SHGs were formed and connected with agriculture-based income-generating activities.




5. Health & School
WASH-in-Schools is an integral part of every school’s objective to provide children with an enabling and supportive learning environment. It includes the provision of safe drinking water, adequate and appropriate (child-friendly and gender-sensitive) toilet facilities, handwashing stations, and hygiene education.
An effective WASH system in schools helps ensure a safe environment for every child, which in turn enhances their learning capacity and creates a positive educational atmosphere.
To support these goals, Vibhavari has been continuously working in various districts of Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with different agencies on school sanitation and behavior change.Vibhavari has developed and conducted training programs using separate modules for teachers and students specifically focused on this subject.
